HUMPHREY MUCHUMA GAMES: A CELEBRATION OF TALENT, UNITY, & THE SPIRIT OF WEBUYE WEST

The Humphrey Muchuma Sports Tournament has once again ignited Webuye West with unmatched energy, unmatched passion, and a scale never witnessed before. With over 100 teams drawn from Bokoli Ward, Misikhu Ward, Matulo Ward, and Sitikho Ward, this year’s edition stands tall as one of the most vibrant grassroots sporting events in the region.

What began as a vision to create opportunities for young people has quickly evolved into a premier sporting festival, a home to rising stars, raw talent, and the unity that defines our community. At the heart of it all is a commitment: to give our young men and women a platform to shine, compete, and build a future through sports.

THE STAKES ARE HIGH

This year’s tournament comes with one of the most attractive prize packages in grassroots sports:
KSh 500,000 – Men’s Soccer Champions
KSh 500,000 – Women’s Soccer Champions
KSh 500,000 – Volleyball Champions

These awards are not just prizes; they are life-changing opportunities, motivation for excellence, and a bold statement that talent, when supported, can transform lives.

THE MEN’S SOCCER BATTLE: WHO WILL TAKE HOME THE 500,000?

Four wards. Dozens of teams. One dream. With hundreds of matches ahead and over 100 teams competing, the battle for the top prize remains electrifying. Four wards have brought forward dynamic, determined, and highly-skilled squads: Bokoli Ward, Misikhu Ward, Matulo Ward, Sitikho Ward
Each ward has presented impressive talent, thrilling fans with exceptional teamwork and tactical depth. Our assessment suggests strong contenders across all wards, but football is unpredictable; every match has the potential to rewrite the story.

A TOURNAMENT BUILT ON PURPOSE

Beyond the excitement, celebration, and competition, the Humphrey Muchuma Tournament remains anchored on one mission:
to empower the youth, promote unity, and nurture talent at the grassroots level. HK Muchuma’s vision, advanced through the support of the DRM Foundation, is simple but powerful: No dream should die because opportunities are limited. Talent deserves a stage. Young people deserve a chance.

This tournament is that stage, and the impact is evident in every match, every cheer, and every young player who steps onto the pitch believing their future is brighter.

HK MUCHUMA OUTLINES BROADER VISION FOR TALENT DEVELOPMENT

In his keynote address, Hon. Humphrey Muchuma expanded the conversation beyond sports. He presented a comprehensive blueprint aimed at empowering young people across all creative and developmental pathways. His talent-development roadmap includes:

Establishing platforms that support music production: Spaces where young artists can record, refine, and elevate their musical skills.
Facilitating content creation opportunities; supporting photographers, videographers, digital creatives, and storytellers with tools and mentorship.

Launching INUA AI GROUP FC

A flagship program designed to identify, train, and expose promising footballers to higher levels of competition. Through these initiatives, Muchuma made it clear that empowerment is not an event; it is a continuous process. His goal is to create an ecosystem where every young person in Webuye West can find a pathway to growth, whether in sports, music, digital media, or entrepreneurship.
